This research assessed the relationship between five project management knowledge areas and the performance of public construction contracts in the Lusaka District. The project management knowledge areas of focus were Integration Management, Scope Management, Cost Management, Quality Management, and Risk Management. The study attempted to determine the relationship in terms of cost, quality, client satisfaction, and time. A sequential mixed-methods approach was used. The study through correlation analysis established the relationship between each of the five project management knowledge areas and the performance of public construction contracts. Thereafter, the study developed a framework by integrating the five project management knowledge areas with contract performance indicators to help enhance contract performance in the construction industry.en_US
